The way a horse's body is build depends on the breed and its purpose. Mighty draught horses have large, heavy bones for supporting the strong muscles which are needed for pulling great weights. Racehorses have long, slender limbs (legs) and light bones. However, the bones must not be too light, or they will break under the horse's physical stress.
